NCAA CLUB COACHES APPROVAL APPLICATION 

ALL CLUB COACHES INCLUDING ASSISTANT COACHES MUST GO THROUGH THE NCAA CLUB COACHES APPROVAL APPLICATION.  ALL CLUB COACHES THAT SIT ON THE BENCH DURING GAMES AT AN NCAA CERTIFIED EVENT LIKE THE PCS MUST BE APPROVED THROUGH THE NCAA APPROVAL APPLICATION.  YOU MAY NOT SIT ON THE BENCH IF YOU’RE NOT APPROVED.


IF YOU DO NOT HAVE AN NCAA COACHES APPROVAL NUMBER YOU MAY NOT COACH OR PARTICIPATE AS BENCH PERSONNEL AT THE PCS OR ANY OTHER NCAA CERTIFIED EVENT

NCAA approval numbers are good for 2 years. After 2 years you need re-certify yourself by going through the NCAA Summer Coaches Approval Process. For example individuals who went through this process during the summer of 2003 must go through the NCAA Approval process again. Those individuals who received their NCAA approval number in the summer of 2004 do not need to apply again until 2006.

The approval process consists of an application, a criminal background verification, an authorization for release of information and an NCAA rules educational component.

2008 PCS Tournament Rules

1. Game time is forfeit time unless approved by the Tourament Director.

2) A team can start with four players. A team may play with less than four players as long as the game and situation can be played under th rules of the NFHS regarding playing with three players or less.

2. The tournament will follow NCAA Womens rules with the following exceptions:

a) Each player will be allowed SIX fouls before being disqualified

b) Teams will have THREE 30 second time outs per half. Use them or lose them.

c) There will be a ten second back court count. Five second count on held ball and while dribbling.

d) The clock will not stop on a scored goal within the final minute of regulation play.

3. On the tenth team foul, teams will shoot ONE AND ONE ONLY.

4. EJECTIONS: If a coach is ejected from a game, he/she must leave the facility. If a coach is ejected, he /she cannot coach in the next game. No exceptions.

4a. TECHNICAL FOULS: Technical fouls are an automatic THREE points and POINT OF INTERRUPTION RULES APPLY. No free throws will be shot.

5. OVERTIME: The period will be one minute stop time. NO timeout is allowed in OT. The second OT period will be 30 second stop time.

6. Official's decisions are final. No protests will he heard regarding the decisions of officials as it relates to game play. Any other protests can be filed with the tournament director via the site director. Any protests must be accompanied by a $50.00 fee. In the even a team loses the protest, the $50 fee is not refundable. If a protesting team wins their protest, they will be refunded their $50 protest fee. The protest committee consists of the Tournament Director, Head Official, and the Assistant Tournament Director.

7. Sportsmanship: Coaches are responsible for their players, fans, and parents. All unsportsmanlike conduct will be addressed with removal from the facilities with no refunds.

8. Teams are responsible for their own training needs.
